A big corporation recently hired several cannibals in the interest of cultural diversity.
You are all part of our team now," said the HR rep during the welcoming briefing. "You get all the usual benefits and you can go to the cafeteria for something to eat, but please don't eat any of the other employees." 
The cannibals promised they would not. Four weeks later, their boss remarked, "You're all working very hard and I'm satisfied with you. However, one of our shipping clerks has disappeared. Do any of you know what happened to her?" The cannibals all shook their heads no. 
After the boss left, the leader of the cannibals said to the others, "Which one of you idiots ate the shipping clerk ?" A hand rose hesitantly, to which the leader of the cannibals continued, "You fool --- for 4 weeks we've been eating managers and no one noticed anything. But Noooooo, you had to go and eat someone who actually does something!" 

What pained Singh the most was the callousness with which the onlookers witnessed the entire altercation and did not intervene to stop the attacker.

Singh said that his attacker started screaming at him that he was trying to blow up this country. Singh added that his attacker abused him. "I will kill you rightaway as you are trying to blow up the country", Singh quoted the attacker as saying.
 
Singh was born in Ohio, but grew up in Bakersfield. He was shocked to find that all the passers-by were merely mute spectators and did nothing to help him.

INVESTIGATION STARTED

"Everyone behaved like nothing happened. No one seemed to care at all", he said. "It's a terrible, terrible feeling for someone who's been attacked to realise that those around will not come forward for help. As a community we need to realise that the only way to combat hate and violence is to stand together in love and support."
 
The Bakersfield Police Department has started investigating the incident as a hate crime. While they have information on the suspect, no arrests have been made yet. Anyone who has information about the incident is asked to call the BPD at 327-7111.
