No fewer than five persons lost their lives during a street carnival in Ikorodu area of Lagos after cultists clashed on Tuesday.
The fight was between the Aye and Eiye confraternities started around 1am during Itunmeko street carnival. The Nation reports that trouble started after the Eiye cult group killed two Aye (Black Axe) members who were invited to the carnival. They two were said to have been killed on their way home.
In revenge, Aye cult group was said to have taken the fight to Eiye group at the wee hours of yesterday, killing three of its members. The cultists used weapons such as axes, cutlasses and guns in the process while killing and injuring many people. An authentic source revealed how the fight started.
