At a time when African music and our local artists are gaining notable recognition globally, there is a pressing need to build avenues which ensure that this attention stretches back home. This is what brought about music festivals such as NATIVELAND and Gidi Fest, which has just announced the line-up for this year!

For those of you who don't know about it, Gidi Festival is a four-year-old music and arts festival in Lagos founded by Chinedu Okeke and Teme Banigo. Given that Lagos is the cultural mecca of Africa, it makes sense that this festival is held here annually. The festival was created in response to an overwhelming demand for affordable and accessible entertainment in Africa.
Since its inception, Gidi Fest has brought a fun and exciting music festival experience, featuring many notable African musicians. This year's edition will be no different, and will be headlined by our biggest music export, Wizkid, and the legendary Tuface Idiba. They will be joined by a carefully curated and diverse line-up of the some of the most popular Nigerian artists who are also making waves across the globe, such as Maleek Berry, Ycee, Adekunle Gold, Brymo, Show Dem Camp and Mayorkun.
In addition, Gidi Fest will be introducing a second stage which aims to showcase the talented new generation of artists who are creating niches for themselves by redefining the 'Nigerian sound'. This stage will host artists such as D-Truce, Makka, Remmy Baggins, Lady Donli, D-O, Jinmi Abduls, Jamal Swiss and more.
This year's edition of Gidi Fest will be holding at Hard Rock Café Beach Front on March 30 (don't worry, it's a public holiday!). Click here to purchase tickets and for more information about accredited vendors!
